The main entrance on Fifth Street (blue marker on the map) is generally used only for large public events. At other times, use the side entrance on Mint Plaza, on the northwest side of the building (red marker on the map). Event loading and unloading only may use the loading dock on Mint Street (green marker on the map)
Public Transit
The Old Mint is located one block south of Market Street, San Francisco's main transit corridor. BART and MUNI patrons should use Powell Station. Surface transit patrons should use the stop at 5th Street or Powell, depending on the specific line. Numerous lines, including MUNI and SamTrans, serve Mission Street.
By Car
ParkingAmple parking is available at the city-owned Fifth and Mission/Yerba Buena Center garage located diagonally across Fifth and Mission Streets. Metered street parking is limited.
From the Bay BridgeUse Exit 2A, Fifth Street. Note that the exit is from the left lane of the freeway. Turn right onto 5th Street and continue four blocks to Mission Street.
From the Golden Gate BridgeFollow US 101 along Lombard Street to Van Ness Avenue. Follow Van Ness for 1.4 miles, then turn left at any of the following: Golden Gate Avenue, McAllister Street, or Grove Street. Go one block east to Polk Street, then turn right. Stay on Polk across Market Street where it becomes 10th Street. Turn left at Mission Street (one block after crossing Market), and travel five blocks to 5th and Mission.
From the SouthUse 280 northbound to Sixth Street. You may either continue straight ahead on 6th Street five blocks to Mission Street and turn right one block to 5th Street, or turn right on Brannan one block to 5th Street, turn left, and travel five blocks to Mission.
